BORG QUEEN IS PRODUCING A FEATURE FILM AND IT'S A MUSICAL
December 18, 2020
It's official! Pre-production of a feature length film A Bionic Holiday Ballad is under way. A Bionic Holiday Ballad is a sci fi musical adaptation of the timeless Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol with some notable differences. The protagonist is not an elderly male money lender, but will be an AFAB(assigned female at birth) non-binary bionics engineer. Instead of being set in Victorian England, A Bionic Holiday Ballad will take place in a dystopian alternate reality somewhere in the urban Pacific Northwest.
The screenplay is written by Borg Queen's Jenny Kirby and they will be taking on various art department roles including production designer and concept illustrator. The film will feature 10 new original songs an a score by Borg Queen. Arcelia Ocana has signed on as director. She has previously worked with Borg Queen as the director of the music videos Lapdance Romance, We're All Whores and Hedonist.
An official release date for the film has not been set, but the songs will be released prior to the film as an album in late 2021. Borg Queen is running an ongoing micro patronage subscription campaign to help finance the film. Subscription tiers start at $2 per month. There is also a dedicated ABHB merch store where prints of the concept illustrations can be purchased for $30 a piece. All merch proceeds will be allocated to production costs.
